- OTOpenTable DinerSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined on Mar 1, 2025The appetizer of Ox liver was large and had endive and some fennel With a Dijon sauce that was fantastic, the meat was rich like roast beef and near medium but tender and the sauce made the whole thing a delight. A had a Tristin 2019 red wine they don’t seem to call them cabs or merlot like we do in Napa (California) but had Pinot Noir , anyways my waiter commended me on my choice of matching up to the pigeon and radish and said the vineyard was actually a St John’s owned one but not by name. The pigeon was rare and very tasty, two full breasts in a partial reduction sauce that had an onion flavor and was subtle compared to the richness of the squab. The squab was delicate and fresh tasting, a long time favorite. The prices were reasonable and after walking 5 miles in the British Musuem a second glass of wine and enjoying the peaceful setting of the dining room. A memorable occasion ! Servers were attentive, smiling and helpful with my food intolerances for dairy and gluten. You can tell everyone takes pride in working there and it showed.More infoChop House Market StreetPrice: Expensive• Steak• Edinburgh•4
