- JJanetNew York City •6 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWhat an amazing place! The service was excellent from the start. Ben was very gracious, getting our drink orders in quickly in spite of having a full room and always provided good service in spite of the rush of people and orders around us. We never felt rushed and had a nice leisurely meal - prime NY strip for one of us, filet medallions for the other, and the pancetta wrapped scallops with fettucini for me. The portions were very generous - the NY strip was about 12-14 oz, and prepared perfectly to medium rare as ordered and served with mashed potatoes and spinach which is a nice touch since many places have you order sides a la carte. Overall, a very nice experience and we will be back. The area has a lot of options for steakhouses, but the Whaling Station offered the best value compared to places we frequent in Carmel.More infoThe Whaling Station SteakhousePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Monterey•4.6

- KkateSan Diego •1 review5.0Dined on Nov 11, 2024We enjoy Hog’s Breath. Great spot with dogs. Spacious enough that we weren’t sitting on top of our neighbor table and our dog had space. We had kids with us and we appreciated the kids menu. Once the sun set, it gets chilly and our kids were pretty cold even though we were under a heater, but it wasn’t pumping out heat too well. My daughter went over and ate her dinner in front of a fire place that had a bench for hanging. Overall, great ambiance. The bar is cute, small, and has a western cabin feel. There’s indoor dining too. Food was good. Clam chowder was great, steamed artichoke was very basic and the aioli im pretty sure was plain mayo but still good enough to eat. Calamari was the best I’ve had in a while. Soft, squid, not overly chewy. The breading was just as it should be. Overall we’d return and recommend!More infoThe Hog's Breath Inn - CarmelPrice: Moderate• American• Carmel•4.4
