They clearly have built a team that is in sync from chef Scott Nishiyama all the way to the person greeting you at the door. Everyone excited to work there. And for good reason. Let's start with the chef and the food: when the morning after you are still thinking about arrowhead cabbage, snap peas and milk bread…. What? The kitchen is sourcing and executing on an extremely high level. Combinations that are thoughtful, surprising - and that resist the temptation to add too many elements. Scallop stuffed tempura maitake mushrooms, and panko battered swordfish. It made me fall in love with those 2 foods in a totally new way. Service was extra-ordinary. Madison had energy and attentiveness even at the very end of the night. Everyone cares. Wine list is approachable if you want something tasty and modest, and expansive if you want something special. We just relocated to the Bay Area and will be back as often as we can justify.More infoEthel's FancyPrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Palo Alto•4.9
- SScottSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoIt was our first time at Nobu, and we weren't sure what to expect. We were impressed by both the food, and the service. The food quality was amazing. Each dish they brought out was like a little piece of art. The flavors were varied, unique, and delicious. It was one of the most enjoyable meals I can remember. Every Nobu employee we encountered was very friendly and professional. Our server, Andy, did a great job of guiding us through the overwhelming choices on the menu. "Gonzo" Gonzales made sure our drinks were topped up, and dishes were cleared away at just the right moment, without interrupting our conversation. This is a high-end dining experience, and priced accordingly. If you love food, and want a truly amazing experience, give Nobu Palo Alto a try.More infoNobu Palo AltoPrice: Very Expensive• Japanese• Palo Alto•4.6
