- EEllisVIPChicago / Illinois •11 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoAttentive service. We had the garlic bread which was terrific, meatballs and the steak tartare with truffles (valentine special) for appetizers, and then chicken parmigiana and the burata lasagna for dinner. All excellent.More infoil PorcellinoPrice: Moderate• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.8
- CChristopherVIPEdinburgh/Midlothian •17 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoA very quiet lunchtime on Presidents Day. I came for my favourite Fusilli. My first couple of bites were quite spicy (I don't recall it being as spicy on previous occasions) and I began to choke. Staff were very helpful, offered to replace with a less spicy version but I didn't like the thought of food being wasted. My cough settled down, I enjoyed the Fusilli as I always do (resolved to ask for less spicy next time). They brought me a second glass of wine on the house so that solved everything. This is a VERY CLASSY restaurant with tasty and interesting food. I come every year in February and always visit Acanto ....More infoAcantoPrice: Expensive• Italian• Downtown / Loop•4.8
- DDara KristineVIPChicago / Illinois •37 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt was our first time dining at Hawksmoor and the food and service did not disappoint. As soon as we checked in at FOH, we were warmly greeted by the staff. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation and we were asked if we could sit at the bar for the time being while they make sure guests with earlier reservations were taken care of. We were shown to the bar & ordered drinks at the bar but about 5 minutes in, our table was ready so the bartender brought our drinks to us. Rachel & her colleague (whose name escapes me) took really good care of us. They were attentive during our time there and made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. My husband and I both ordered the Sunday roast and it was delicious. At first, my husband was thinking it wasn't going to be enough food since there were 2 slices of the roast but in the end, it was the right amount. The beef was tender and flavorful especially when we smeared roasted garlic on. The gravy was delicious so much so that Rachel ended up giving us an extra helping of the gravy. The roasted carrots were tender and sweet, the roasted potatoes had this crispy exterior and creamy interior. The Yorkshire pudding was a good size and delicious. My husband ordered the sour cherry america(no) mocktail and it looked like an old fashioned, I had a sip (or two) of his drink and it was delicious. I ordered the Five Alive cocktail and it's one of my top favorite cocktails. For dessert, I ordered the hot chocolate tart with brown butter ice cream and my husband had the peanut butter Louis. He said his dessert was splendid. It appeared hard to cut but it was not. He said it was creamy and had the perfect level of sweetness. The hot chocolate tart was the same thing, perfectly baked and the sweetness was just right. Even the ice cream that went with each dessert complimented them perfectly. We will definitely be back to Hawksmoor.More infoHawksmoor ChicagoPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• River North (Chicago)•4.5
- AAdinaChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoWe tried this restaurant last night and had the best time. The food was amazing, but what was really amazing was our server Rene and the staff. The staff was so on top of it, and the food came out so fast. It was our friend's birthday, and we were trying to surprise her. We had ordered a cake but needed to figure out a way to get it there without her noticing. When my other friend called the restaurant, they were able to hold the cake for us in the morning and then bring it to the table as a surprise. Rene was already informed by staff, so when we arrived, he was already in on the plan. At the end of dinner, the cake was brought out, and it was such a nice surprise. Special thanks to Rene and the staff at Quartino—you are all amazing.More infoQuartino - ChicagoPrice: Moderate• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.6
- RRyanSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoI took my mom for a Valentine's Day lunch. We went around 3 PM, and even though my reservation was at 3:30 PM the staff were nice enough to let me in. Granted it was a low volume of people eating at the time. We were sat near the windows which added to the ambience of our visit. The music made it feel like we were in an old fancy jazz club. I had the French onion soup and the chicken sandwich while my mom had the Walnut turkey club sandwich. Both sandwiches came with well seasoned fries. The food was delicious and our waitress, Annette, was very attentive and sweet. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go again. I would highly recommend the Walnut Room.More infoThe Walnut Room - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Loop•4.6
