For this we give the team 11 out of 10 for being phenomenally supportive when one of our dinner party suffered a seizure. Their response with an on site first aider coupled with calling emergency services and the way they managed the whole situation with calm urgency and empathy to all concerned was both impressive and appreciated.

A reunion for 6 retired Old Farts. We chose the express menu. £35 for 3 courses. Had the (two substantial) Yorkshire puddings, with potted beef and onion gravy for starters. Then a beautifully cooked, tasty, rump steak and chips, with the hottest horseradish sauce ever. Finally, I overcame my reluctance, and ordered the sticky toffee sundae. Yes, you read it right. Worth the visit alone. Not being a drinker, I usually have limited choice for drinks, but their soda with a separate bottle of freshly squeezed lime juice, in a lovely ice filled glass, was a refreshing and wonderfully bitter joy. Lovely surroundings, service perfect, I ordered a large voucher for a Christmas present, and hope someone gets one for me.

I regularly eat at Hawksmoor for quality steak and great service. But the Apple pie currently on the dessert menu deserves its own special mention. Well worth the 1000 calorie ‘price tag’, it was amazingly delicious.

At the suggestion of the server, we allowed the kitchen to prepare a selection of steaks for us to share - they were all excellent and it was a great way to try several different cuts. The wine was excellent. The service was competent and friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable evening
