Wine is at the heart of Davy’s so it’s unsurprising to find a treasure trove of wine related artefacts on display in this characterful wine bar and dining room handily situated next to Greenwich DLR and British Rail. Here, you can enjoy everything from a quick glass of wine or refreshing Meantime beer to a light bite or full Sunday roast. Our modern British menus offer delicious, fresh, seasonal foods from lunch to dinner. The 19thcentury backdrop and vintage touches deliver an original setting for the numerous wine tastings that take place, as well as weddings, parties and dinners.

Sunday roast was nice & tasty! At first it didn’t seem up too much but when you unravel your lunch it was more than enough. I did get extra potatoes though 👍🏽 Another good reason to come is they are dog friendly🐶 We will be back.

There were only us & another table. The spinach didn’t arrive until we’d finished the main course. We had a good time with the waiter over the “Secret” wine that was served with the Sausage & Mash ….. I was waiting for my dining partner to arrive…. With my Gin & Tonic & was asked by a waitress did I want to eat & drink something… a bit odd I eat in Davys often.

After a particularly long and difficult day, I met a colleague and friend (who’d had a similar day) for supper. I love this place as it’s calm and has quiet nooks where you can hide and just chat quietly. We ordered off menu - it was a burger kind of a day - and our wonderful waitress Jennifer looked after us brilliantly. Great menu, obviously excellent wines to choose from and a wonderful hug of a restaurant on a cold wet evening.

Sunday evening, arrived 7.30 and first comment from waiter was that the kitchen closed at 9. Chose a quiet corner - uncleared table next to us. Food arrived, my linguine luke war, and peas like bullets. Friends food also not hot. Did not complain as I could not on that occasion cope with that. Of 2 rose wines by the glass, the first and less expensive was “not available”. Had to pay neatly £10 for a still very ordinary tasting rose. Asked if we wanted desserts as the kitchen would be closing soon….we didn’t. Asked if we wanted more drinks at 9.02 and asked for coffee, to be told that “the coffee machine has closed at 9”! This used to be a good place to go. Would not go again based on this.

The Sunday roast was very good. It was high quality and perfectly sized. Once ordered it arrived promptly. The wine list is also strong and offers an above average number of wines by the glass. The service sadly was very slow. I was in no rush but it took an hour after my main meal was served to be offered a dessert. The restaurant wasn’t packed so I only assume due to staff shortages. That aside I would return as the quality of the food and wine was superb.

Lovely venue, great food, great wine. Had a 3 year old and baby. Plenty of space and good outside area for my 3 year old to burn off some steam.
