Aloha, we are open daily from 7:00am to 11:00pm and are located on the waterfront of Waikiki Beach inside the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. We accept reservations & reserve a large amount of space for walk-ins. If your desired reservation is not available, please join our waitlist in person daily. Happy Hour is available daily from 3:30pm-5:00pm (excluding select holidays).

Our chef driven concept is led by the classically trained, award winning chef, Peter Merriman. Peter is a culinary pioneer and one of the founders of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. He has always been inspired by the people and products around him and this spirit has lead the movement to look at food in Hawaii in a new light. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman embraces this passion! Each item on the menu demonstrates our commitment to craft and showcases high quality, socially conscious ingredients, creative preparations, and perfect execution.

About the restaurant

Dine at the most breathtaking oceanfront setting in Kapalua Resort. Peter Merriman Chef/Restauranteur has brought his unique style of Hawaii Regional Cuisine to Maui. A pioneer in the “Farm to Table” concept, Peter serves only the freshest products, at least 90% of which are locally grown or caught, using only sustainable methods.

Reservations are released 60 days prior at 6am HST. This includes all holidays. Although we cannot accommodate parties larger than 8 people or split reservations in our main dining room, we do have other options available. Please email reservations@merrimanshawaii.com for groups larger than 8 people.

For a more casual dining experience, join us at The Point, our oceanside dining location offering a casual menu. The Point opens daily at 4pm, weather depending. Reservations are not needed or accepted for The Point. Happy Hour is from 4pm to 530pm at the Point and Bar.

This place is an absolutely gorgeous setting on the water. The service was exceedingly exceptional. We had a delayed flight and were late to our reservation, but they held a table for us for my husband’s birthday, and they made it extra special with a complimentary toast and dessert. The food was so fresh and delicious; we had the Hummus and quesadilla to start, and the daily ocean special (red snapper) and the macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi. Everything from the view, the music, the service, the mai tai, and the food, was PERFECT!

Our stunning ocean-front location with spectacular sunsets makes the Beach House an iconic destination on Kauai's south shore that has won the Hale 'Aina Award for "Best Restaurant - Kauai" for 20+ years.

Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take aloha, blend it with fresh and high-quality ingredients, and add an ocean view to deliver a handcrafted, Hawaiian experience. Executive Chef Marshall Blanchard makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from island fisherman and our beef from neighboring ranches. We incorporate fresh and local produce throughout our menu, highlighting Hawai'i farms and the resources that surround Kauai.

Reservations are highly recommended for a dining room table in our open-air restaurant. We also offer lounge seating on our lawn, where the full menu and full service are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please check in with the bar host for lawn seating.

We went to the Beach House for my birthday. The setting and restaurant are just amazingly beautiful. They gave us a very nice table. The food was delicious including the complimentary dessert. Our server was very attentive. Love the Monkeypod menu! We will probably try happy hour next!

Our award winning Leilani's Beach Bar is open daily from 10:30am-9:30pm. This is where you'll find our famous fresh fish tacos!

Our newly remodeled upstairs dining room is open from 4:30pm-9:00pm and accepts reservations. Join us for crab legs, fresh fish, and prime rib while it lasts. Please know that if you are unable to make a dinner reservation, we also accept walk-ins every night in our dining room.

At Leilani's on the Beach, we approach our guests as Leilani herself would - by carefully crafting and sharing the aloha spirit. Our unique concept bridges the generations with an ambiance that creates a contemporary sense of place while honoring the powerful tradition of Hawaiian women. My family of five adults and a one year-old granddaughter enjoyed our second meal at Leilani‘s on the beach during our one week vacation on Maui. The ambience was superb as it was a nice evening with a beautiful sunset. Our server was Derek, and he was wonderful. He was attentive, friendly, and helpful. All our requests were taken care of by Derek. The food was superb again as usual. We enjoyed the calamari and Korean pork ribs as starters, and the pork ribs are very flavorful! They had a children’s menu for our one year-old, and she devoured most of the chicken and green beans. Two of us enjoyed the superb sesame crusted tuna with a tasty shiitake soy butter. One daughter enjoyed the shrimp pasta, and the other enjoyed the Alaskan King crab legs. Even though the crab legs were expensive, there was a large amount of meat within the large crab legs, and the crab meat was so tender and succulent. It was worth the price! My wife enjoyed the ribs and chicken plate. The proportions of food was generous and the timing of service between the appetizers and entrées was spot on. It was a lovely evening with a great meal and wonderful service at Leilani‘s on the beach. We look forward to our next trip to Maui so we can have dinner at Leilani‘s on the beach.
