The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park. The décor reflects the traditional country inns history but with a modern twist. Existing oak and stone has been enhanced with modern colours, furniture and fabrics, and the theme extends to the bedrooms.
Lunches and dinners are served seven days a week in the bar and dining room. The food provided is traditional British comfort eating to an exceptional standard and makes use of local, seasonal ingredients. A comprehensive range of beers and ales compliments an extensive wine list. The inn experience continues with seven bedrooms providing a very high quality of luxury accommodation. The outstanding views across the Tyne valley provide the ultimate conclusion to a visit to the Duke of Wellington which will stay with you long after you leave.

                                        We always enjoy going to the Duke of Wellington. We live a short distance away and use it regularly. We also take guests there when they visit. Excellent food, lovely polite and friendly servers. I would thoroughly recommend

                                        Stopped here for Sunday lunch...which was excellent. Service was slow but that was because of a lack of staff in my opinion. It did not spoil the meal though. The beef was beautifully cooked along with large helpings of veg. Lovely pub in a nice location.

                                        Second visit for Sunday lunch, both occasions the food was luke warm at best. Very disappointed.

                                        Absolutely 💯 been coming for years ! Only fault soup was cold, but got sorted straight away no quibble! Perfect! This has to be one of the best Sunday lunches in Newcastle! If you haven’t been you need to try this place out.
