As the say, you only have one chance to make a first impression and sadly EJ’s was a disappointment! This was the first time that my husband and I have ever gone to EJ’s even though we have lived in Skokie for 40+ yrs. We typically for to other steak houses with our family but on Friday, we decided to make EJ’s are choice for Date Night! From the moment we walked in I had the feeling we may have made the wrong choice! It was SO LOUD that it was not enjoyable! The table we were sat at was a 2 seater up near kitchen tucked in a corner where clearly we must have been forgotten about!! The waiter was not very friendly (never smiled) but just acted as if he was doing his job. I ordered my steak medium well (very little pick I asked) and it came out RARE!! I sent it back to be cooked as I ordered but by the time it was brought back to me my husband was half way done with his meal!! I also had to ask for a refill on my ice tea and our water glasses were never refilled during the meal! Let’s just say for a $214 meal this was a complete waste of our money!! The real kicker was when we left nobody was even at the from door to say good night or to ask how we enjoyed our meal!! We would have thought that our waiter should have noticed the terrible dining experience we were having and that he would have let his manager know about it!! Dr. Lipin and I will never return to EJ’s based on this most unpleasant dining experience!

EJ’s Place is our go to restaurant for a great meal and awesome service. They have something for everyone: awesome steak, fresh fish and their meat sauce in their spaghetti is top notch. The valet is complimentary so it’s easy to get in and out (although the guys are super friendly and deserve a decent gratuity too.). We highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, excellent and attentive service. HIGHLY recommend to anyone in this area. We had folks meeting from the north suburbs and city, and it was great.

Had so much fun on Thursday we went back on Saturday! It is such a festive and fun atmosphere. In addition to the flawless service, attentive valets, amazing food the atmosphere is so enjoyable. Seeing so many people having a great time as well as running into people we know makes for even more fun. It remains our go to place on the North Shore!

Great Chicago steakhouse vibes legendary but like all service industry jobs - service level is lacking a bit but that’s not necessarily just a “them” problem..
