   Elements has been our "go to" restaurant in Chapel Hill for many years. Inventive and delicious food, great service, nice ambience and moderate noise level. Last night was a 180 turn around! We were seated in a side dining room that had 2 extra large tables. Our party of 6 was much smaller than the others. I think the waiter was over worked: Thus, our drink orders took too much time. And then the drinks came out at different times. 2 in our party waited 10 minutes for their drinks to arrive after the other already had their drinks. The order for food was delayed too. The food was very good as usual. The ambience in the large room was much less warm when compared to the primary dining room I think Elements has expanded their dining room but under staffed the service and bar.

   Salmon Wellington was the highlight and the sushi was also good. It was Valentine's Day weekend and they were busy but they could improve on some details like the flower on the table was wilted and a spoon was not clean.

   The food at elements is always good. The wait staff is always friendly. When you go Valentine’s weekend I guess you have to expect it to be a bit noisy, but the tables have a good distance between them. It is on the expensive side, but I guess that’s to be expected.

   Great Valentine’s Day set menu. Food was delicious, varied and plenty of it. Main came out beautiful and piping hot. Service great. Highly recommended

   The Valentine's Tasting Menu Dinner was fabulous. Salmon and tuna tartare , followed by shrimp and scallop dumplings, followed by Salmon Wellington and ending with Chocolate cheesecake was absolutely delicious and so well presented. A nice Chardonnay was a great complement. Elements is always a special place to eat and this dinner showed off their expertise. We will be back.

   The experience was good overall . Only we felt it off putting before venturing to the restaurant to have the front reception gentleman on Valentine’s Day and our Anniversary inform us on the phone when we called to confirm our reservation at 7:15pm that “ there is a hard Stop at 8pm” due to many bookings and tables needing to be made available , which would have given us literally under an hour to eat . Very odd as when we were having dinner and finished way after 8pm as the kitchen was backed up there were still a plethora of tables empty. We are guests from out of state and thought for the price that the restaurant would be more up to date and certainly more polished . It is suggested from one business owner to another to give your place an overhaul ie: white table clothes , new paint , new elegant lighting . The experience felt very much like a cafeteria. With a simple revamp you will get more bang for your buck. The environment needs to match the quality of the food and lastly uniformity with your front reception person ( no sneakers and perhaps a dinner jacket or an ironed shirt , elegance is essential for your establishment ( A crisp Black or White shirt is preferable for your bar person , not an wrinkled Hawaian shirt unless it’s the theme of an evening event and all on staff are a part of it . I’m hopeful this is helpful and useful information as we loved the food and our wait person Elena was prepared , has wonderful energy , and made our Valentine’s and our Anniversary sweet .    One of our favorite places to go. Bento box is always great and the prawns are amazing.

   Top-notch bento box lunch at Elements, particularly the Wagyu dumplings! We also shared an order of spring rolls and a decadent bananas foster bread pudding. Host Van was her usual gracious self. Service was slow and our waiter not attentive but his colleagues stepped up graciously when he disappeared for long stretches.
