   I was so surprised that our dinner was between okay and good. I had wanted to eat here for years. Our appetizer was so overcooked it was hard to cut. The soup was too salty to finish. The service was rushed. Our drinks, appetizers and dinner took 65 minutes end to end. I specifically asked the server to slow it down and not rush. I am sure this is not the standard, but it was disappointing.

   I must say that the food was nothing less than outstanding! We shared an appetizer, had our own entrees, and shared a dessert. The dessert was a fried apple pie with Crème Fraîche, caramel, and ice cream. The flaky crust on the fried pie tasted like sweet butter!! We were stuffed but ate the whole thing. 🥰 😋 We are a bit of a food snob and I would highly recommend trying out Fearing’s for those that have never been. The drinks were over the top expensive to us, $25 for a standard cocktail but I knew what to expect before I went. We bought cocktails anyways - still cringed at the price. I’d love to go back and do their high tea.

   The service we received at Fearungs for a birthday dinner was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we were seated, the staff made us feel welcome and attended to, ensuring our experience was memorable. Our servers were attentive and courteous, checking in regularly to anticipate our needs without being intrusive. As for the food, the majority of our meals were truly superb, each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. However, the Southwest sampler did not quite meet our expectations—it lacked the vibrant flavors we anticipated. Overall, the evening was a delightful celebration, with excellent service and most dishes leaving a lasting impression.

   Hate to say this but Fearing’s has seen better days. It used to be the place you brought out of town guests to showcase southwestern flavors. But now it just seems stale. I had not been for a couple years—the last few times were subpar experiences—but thought we’d give it another try for our party of 9. I will say that my wagu ribeye was outstanding. But everything else—from the tepid tortilla soup, odd tasting lamb amuse bouche, uneven filets, greasy Brussels sprouts—was really disappointing. My dinner guest ordered the lobster and filet and ate almost none of it. Sadly I think Fearing’s has run its course.

    Fearings has excellent food and very good service. The Thanksgiving dinner appetizers ( prawns and scallops were excellent 5 stars); the main dishes were excellent as well; and the deserts were good, the chocolate pecan tart was outstanding. The service was good and so was the value. I missed the little take-away that we had in previous years. Our servers were very good, but the experience felt ordinary compared to previous visits. Maybe people were tired by 5:30 PM. It was a Very good meal and worth the cost of the meal. I missed Chef Fearing and the buzz he creates and the air of festivity that usually happens at Fearings. This year we had a very nice delectable meal. In years past, I would describe that it was a festive holiday experience and a gastronomical delight.
