Best Casual Restaurants in Downers Grove

Our food was excellent, our server not so much. The worst is when he put dirty glasses from another table down on our table to take an order and then left them there despite many trips past or table and us trying to get his attention. That not one of the waiters passing our table picked up over 10 glasses at the end of our table was a joke. The end of our table was literally in an aisle to a pathway to the kitchen and bar. We had to remind him we ordered drinks (he said they were busy, we were right next to the bar - not that busy, forgot another bottle of water (we asked 3 times) Did not check our table after serving dinner and took forever to bring the dessert menu and check. I really think he was just trolling us at the end. I have not had this bad of service in a long, long time and we eat out at least once a week. The food was outstanding from the meat and cheese appetizer, to the pizzas and truffle dish, the seasonal dessert was the favorite at our table. We will return, but certainly ask for another server. As the holidays ramp up, service needs to be much, much better or I'm afraid the restaurant will suffer and this was on a Monday.

Food was good but prices seem to be increasing every time we visit which is every month. Very disappointed that barramundi is not on the menu anymore! Also the people behind us had the same complaint. Alma did a nice job of serving us. I hope that we can continue being wine club members but don’t like to see so many price increases.

We've been coming here on our birthday for over 20 years and it NEVER disappoints. My daughter has been the chef 3 times, and it's time we do that again. Love this place

This restaurant gets better and better. Delicious food - this time I had the chicken enchiladas. Great server, Roberto. Nice atmosphere and ambiance. Oh, and that caramel pie for dessert? Don’t miss it.

Being in the food & beverage / hospitality industry, it’s very easy to be critical when out to eat at different restaurants — but, Dario was phenomenal. He knew what he was doing & saying and we appreciated that. Had a great time. Great restaurant with great food, and an even better staff.
