A modern pub serving a frequently changing menu, available in our dining room, bar, and outside ledges. It's not fine dining, nor is it trying to be. We cook in a way that we as cooks like to eat, so don’t be afraid to share. If you want to pop in for a burger and a pint, feel free to grab any available space in the bar or outside. We accept bookings for tables of up to six people in the dining room.It can be loud and slightly chaotic; at night it is dark. We turn tables because we need to in order to survive and pay the people that make it work, so please don’t be offended if we ask you to wait a moment for your table. Our dining room has limited space and we don’t offer high chairs, so please let us know in advance if you're bringing a pram or need to adjust your booking size. Here's when we're open, so you can find what you're looking for:Weekdays: Bar 3-11pmKitchen 6-10pmWeekends: Bar 12-11pm (10pm Sunday’s)Kitchen 1-5pmKitchen is closed on Men’s Arsenal home games.

Fergus Henderson’s original home of “Nose to Tail Eating” opened in a former smokehouse around the corner from Smithfield Market in 1994.Celebrating the finest of indigenous British produce and making the most of what is seasonally best whilst applying straight forward cooking techniques, St. John is now celebrated as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World and in 2009 was awarded its first Michelin Star.Nose to tail eating means that, where appropriate, every part of the animal should be put to good use in the kitchen and so along with Roast Beef and Lemon Sole, diners will find Rolled Pig’s Spleen, Kidneys and Ox Heart, Liver and Chitterlings as well as the Roast Bone Marrow & Parsley Salad, something of a ‘signature’ dish.

In February 2022, the renowned British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare CBE RA, and project architect India Mahdavi transformed the Gallery with a new installation of artworks and interiors. Shonibare’s artist-conceived vision presented a new sunshine-yellow setting designed by Mahdavi, marking a new culture-defining chapter for sketch in its 20th year. Using applique and embroidery techniques on richly dyed fabrics, Shonibare illuminates the influence of African traditions on European conceptions of our modern-day world.

This is a very friendly pub with lovely food and a very nice atmosphere. The music was very pleasant without being too loud to speak over. Booking a table in advance seemed sensible. Overall we had a very nice meal and a wonderful evening. Definitely will go back.

We really enjoyed our experience there and will go back next time we're in London. The Crackling Spinach was absolutely outstanding and one of the best vegetable dishes I've ever had. My obnly regret is that we didn't try more items on the menu, but we were so full we just couldn't eat another bite. The service was excellent and we felt very appreciated.

Lussmanns Highgate is a delightful, well appointed and comfortable restaurant, occupying a spacious venue along the village High Street (just across from a main entrance to Waterlow Park) which has housed several successful predecessor restaurants during my 40 years as a local resident. It has a varied and very inviting menu stressing an emphasis on British sourced suppliers. The menu seems to incorporate new offerings and specials every two or so weeks. I have now been to Lussmanns twice for dinners with friends and on each occasion my guests and I have been very happy with the very good quality of the courses/preparation. The staff have always been very welcoming, pleasant and attentive. The ambience is modern and warm in a setting perfectly suited to casual dining - albeit of a high standard (this is no mere cafe!). IMO it also offers alternative space (particularly at the upper level at the rear) which could be configured for private events or perhaps a more formal dining experience. I have actually also visited Lussmanns for a coffee & pastry 'catch-up' with local friends, served at the front of the restaurant which fronts onto the street.....quite delightful. I understand that full English breakfasts are on offer at weekends. Altogether a hi-calibre 'local' restaurant...highly recommended.

My favorite pub for a burger- best in London. The pickles on it are house-made and really make the burger sing. We also really enjoyed several other dishes. The salad with apple, walnut and blue cheese was delicious- made with cooking finesse as was the slightly warmed chocolate tort dessert. Only suggestion is to offer a medium size wine pour or additional options that are less expensive and a better value. But overall, am a huge Plimsoll fan!
