Best Casual Restaurants in Mira Mesa

Hi Friends! My hubby and I attended the Arsenal watch party at California English and had such an amazing time that I wanted to share it with you. It was our first time enjoying California English and we are so glad we did! Not only are Arsenal fans the nicest folks you’ll meet but it turns out that Richard Blais is a fan too! The food, coffee, and cocktails are divine. The service was top notch and the light airy ambiance can’t be beat. We enjoyed the scotch egg and twice cooked chips as a starter. We ordered the scones and gravy, the banger Bennie, and the pear and ricotta toast as our mains. It was a lot of food and we enjoyed it all so much! If you’re an English soccer fan you should definitely check this place out. They have huge TVs around the bar area but this place by no means gives off sports bar vibes. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and think you will too!

Reservation is as easy and there was no wait, ambience was perfect, food was great and service was excellent. Three of us had the prime rib (very tasty and cooked to perfection), one had the mahi mahi and loved it, and the other one had a vegan dish and very happy with it. We shared the calamari and Brussels sprouts and had the hula pie, peanut butter torte, pumpkin pie - all excellent. Thank you for staying open for Thanksgiving.

This is a hidden gem of exquisite food. Consistently proving to be one of the best culinary experiences in North County. Seasonal flavors, and menu options are always a pleasant surprise. Wine suggestions and list are also excellent. Service is perfect, but not stuffy - very friendly. You will not be disappointed if you are a foodie!

It was a gorgeous setting and wonderful place for a nice birthday celebration. All was great at the restaurant but they did not have my open table reservation. I showed them my confirmation and calendar but some how the restaurant never got it.
