Best Casual Restaurants in Thornwood

From the moment we walked through the door, it felt special. We were seated in the “garden room” off of the bar area, which is very rustic yet fancy. There was a fire in the fireplace, and a really good live musician. The food was terrific. I had a mushroom appetizer served over polenta - the highlight of my dinner - and the duck breast. My husband started with the pasta bolognese and had the chicken. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a very lovely evening.

Vida was packed last night. 💃🏻 This is a brand new restaurant in Thornwood by the talented husband and wife duo at Augustine’s in Mamaroneck… Brianne Myers and Marc Taxiera. I love them as humans and am in awe of what they do as creatives/restauranteurs. I was worried about this newest endeavor only because their presence, in addition to incredible food, is such an integral part of Augustine’s success. How will they be able to nurture this baby as beautifully as their first? After visiting last night with a few friends, I no longer have any fears. Vida has been open a month and it felt like it had been operating successfully for years. I am neck deep in Christmas everything, but I am just so happy for Brianne and Marc, but also for Westchester. We needed some new “Vida” around these parts. Will def include comments under the photos. One more thing… omg the food. Oh and the glassware. and the patio that we will all enjoy in the Spring! ok… gotta go! So many gorgeous details. Every time a great experience at Basso. The food and service are always excellent.

The quality of food and level of staff training remains high in this Pleasantville gem. Highly recommended.

Our table was ready and waiting for us. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food as always delicious!
