Best Casual Restaurants in Rancho Santa Fe

Went for an early dinner and sat outside where there were many heaters to stay warm. Staff went out of their way to insure all diners were comfortable. My husband and I got the chicken taquito which was pretty good and shrimp dumpling appetizers, the dumpling sauce very good, almost exquisite, and the caesar salad dressing was excellent. Also got the scallops, which were excellent and the cowboy steak which was pretty good. Apple pie also very, very good! Good and attentive service. So overall very good, but very expensive, especially with the 4% surcharge on top of tip and tax. Can't afford to do it very often!

Our second time to South of Nick’s. The drinks were exceptional, especially the cucumber margarita. Our server was engaged but not overly intrusive. The birria tacos were spot on, however the birria enchilada stack lacked flavor. Overall our party was happy.

We have been here multiple times and we are never disappointed in the food or in the service.

This place never disappoints. Everything that I have had here has been absolutely delicious. The focaccia is nice and fluffy, the bucatini is so flavorful, the Margherita pizza is perfect, and the Tiramisu makes for a perfect dessert.

RSF Gem! It was busier/louder than usual bc it was Valentine’s Day. Great V-Day Prix Fixe Menu choices - which is why we chose to dine here. Both meals were perfectly cooked - lobster tail with risotto & string beans and filet mignon with potato gratin & asparagus. N&G’s is our go to for a filet over Ruth’s or newcomer “48” and never disappoints. We ordered bread pudding off their regular menu after seeing it a nearby table and it was unbelievable. Our friendly server, Diego, provided excellent service. Their regular menu is great too - we’re big fans of the short ribs and scallops. Highly recommend dining at N&G’s - one of our favorites for a great overall dining experience.
