Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Takam really knows how to meld together traditional Filipino dishes, then balance out the richness to make it more refined. Murray salt flakes here. Sesame leaf wrap there. My grown up palate appreciated the work of these master cooks, while my childhood memories came flooding back!

From our initial greeting we can fault the service. They were very busy but we had continued service from different members of the staff. The meal choices were great. The food tasted amazing and also had a great selection of cocktails. Can’t recommend element smokehouse and bar enough looking forward to the next time we come back.

We arrived at 6pm. We were guided upstairs. The service was prompt. Our entrees came out in sufficient time and not long after our mains came out. The food was divine - fresh and tasty. The schnitzel was perfect. Drinks were great as well. We enjoyed some quiet conversation time before a big group arrived just after 7 and I found myself struggling to hear myself talk - and we were literally just across from each other. The whole atmosphere/decor was very traditional Italian - like some of the restaurants I’d been to in Italy. I would visit this place again.
