Best Casual Restaurants in Wheeling

We had a wonderful dinner at Saranello’s. We were seated immediately with our OpenTable reservations. Our server Mike B was very attentive, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We all enjoyed the food and in particular I enjoyed the braised beef short rib. One of the managers Dan stopped by to say hello and check on our satisfaction with the food and service. Our entire party of 4 expressed satisfaction all the way around. We will definitely be dining at Saranello’s in the near future.

The steak unfortunately made my partner sick, appetizer and desert was great, service was also good.

My friends and I had a delightful wine tasting. Pam always greets us with a smile and is attentive to our needs. Our server, Bobby, was prompt and was knowledgeable of the menu. He checked in on us as necessary and was cheerful during our entire meal. As always, the general manager, Eric, was able to answer all our questions regarding an event we wanted to plan. He is always a pleasant to speak with whenever I am at this location. Pam and Eric make the Wheeling location my primary Coopers Hawk location to dine at. Can’t wait for my next meal!

Here’s a review you could use: We celebrated a birthday at Spears, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The food was outstanding, with every dish perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor—everyone at the table raved about it. A special shoutout to our incredible server, Armie, who went above and beyond to make the evening truly unforgettable. Her warm and friendly demeanor, impeccable attention to detail, and top-notch service elevated our celebration to the next level. To top it all off, Armie surprised the birthday boy (my husband) and the rest of the table with a towering cotton candy treat that made the night even more special. Thank you, Spears, for such a memorable evening—we can’t wait to return!

We had always been curious about the gumbo, so for my birthday, my husband and I tried it. We needed about 3 more people to make a dent! It's HUGE... with a generous amount of fish, calamari, shrimp. Very tasty (although, from my many trips to New Orleans, I don't know that I would call it gumbo). It was perfect seafood stew for a cold winter celebration. The service was impeccable as usual. If you're seated in the bar, just know it's loud and flashy with people gambling... so if you don't like lots of hustle and bustl, maybe ask to be seated in the dining room. We'll see you again!
