Savta is more than just a restaurant—it’s a heartfelt homage to my beloved grandmother, the woman who taught me everything I know about food and cooking. Naming the restaurant Savta is my way of celebrating her legacy, her wisdom, and the countless hours we spent together in the kitchen. Every dish we serve is a reflection of her teachings, filled with the love, tradition, and culinary skills she passed down to me. What a wonderful find for our dinner outing this evening. Found out the restaurant has been around for 12 years, pit loss for not knowing that! It was simply a trip to Paris for an experience of a great Parisian Cafe. The menu has you hesitant on many of the delicious dishes you can possibly order at this one sitting. The best is that each dish we had was as good as the menu read. The classic French Onion soup, the duck confit and must try the Meyer Lemon pie! This restaurant is an absolute go to for a delicious, sweet atmosphere and a perfectly attentive staff! Enjoy!!!

Very good food, very good service, very clean and attractive restaurant. The wienerschnitzel and sausages are delicious and exquisitely presented. Bernhard Mairinger, the owner chef, presents his dishes with delicate refined detail and they're always satisfying and delicious.

Los Angeles' Soul Food scene has really diminished over the last 30 years, so it's refreshing to have an authentic, high quality soul food experience. We went on New Year's night and the place was PACKED! Even though we were 45 minutes late for our reservation (Rose Bowl traffic), the hostess worked us in and we were seated about 10 minutes after checking in. Our server was very cheerful and knowledgeable about the menu (as was, we later discovered, the busser). We had the Ox Tails (amazingly tender & flavorful, with a touch of umami - not sure if it was Worcestershire or Soy - that gave them tang), Fried Chicken, Red Beans, Okra, Collard Greens, Yams, Corn Bread and Peach Cobbler. The chicken was crispy, yet the breast was still moist, and the red beans were classic. The okra was charred excellently (I usually don't like okra) and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Collards and Yams were authentic southern style. The cobbler was a little syrupy, but tasted great. BUT IT'S THE SERVICE THAT MADE EVERYTHING STAND OUT - from the greeters to the bussers, the staff was amazing, which made the experience all the better.
