Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. Keeping with that tradition, guests of Post will have an opportunity to “Ring the Bell”, which signifies that they have bought a beer for our hard working kitchen and waitstaff. Great place to celebrate! Super friendly and kind staff, they went out of their way to make my birthday that much more special. If you can get a reservation I highly recommend. Fantastic food and great service. They’re also very aware and accommodating of allergies.

Great atmosphere and a warm place even though it has exposed brick and high ceilings. A lot of pub food but also on the menu the entrées were fine dining class. Great service, we will be back!

We live right up the street on Topsfield Road. We did not know you were “open to the public” until last night.”! Saw you on OpenTable and booked immediately. Everything was fantastic: The food —the service — the atmosphere — Paige was our waitress— she was fabulous — she was attentive and quite tuned-in to all of our needs. We will definitely return —cozy warm “club-like” atmosphere —-we loved it!!!!

We had fabulous cocktails and a great meal. The staff were quite helpful, friendly, and efficient. We were surprised and a bit humbled to learn that the gentleman sitting next to us, who had engaged us in conversation, paid for our dinner! He and his wife left before us to go to a concert nearby. It was so sweet! We will pay it forward!
