- NNadineVIPGreater Boston •4 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe have always loved Jacky's but this particular night was extra wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive; we had water within a minute of being seated, which I ALWAYS appreciate and do not take for granted. Our drinks (there were four of us) came out quickly as well, despite it being a moderately busy Saturday evening. We ordered a round of food (shrimp dim sum, crab rangoon, pineapple rice, lo mein) and everything came out spaced, which we love because then your table is not over-crowded, food stays hot, and you can enjoy each dish without feeling like you are over-stuffing too quickly. We then ordered two specialty sushi rolls and two small rolls. The food was excellent as always. Jacky's has and will continue to remain one of our favorite restaurants in Providence due to its location, beautiful views of the waterfront, consistency in dishes, and kind staff.More infoJacky's Waterplace Restaurant (Downtown, Providence)Price: Moderate• Contemporary Asian• Providence•4.5
- RRaymondVIPGreater Boston •76 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWhat a great way to spend the Winter Solstice. It’s 20 degrees out and we’re at Pot au Feu having a piping hot bowl of the best Onion Soup you can find in New England. Wonderful melted gruyere cheese over a perfectly sized French bread crouton with onions and a tasty steaming broth. Of course, we had our usual Pot du Chocolat for desert with coffee. Our waitress Antigone guided us through a great meal with a bottle of nouveau Beaujolais.More infoPot au Feu BistroPrice: Expensive• French• Providence•4.7
- DDAnnGreater Boston •1 review4.0Dined 3 days agoI’ve been to a number of restaurants in this chain. While all are good, this was the least spectacular. The cheesy bread was cold and kind of hard. The salad bar was phenomenal, especially the fall seasonal ones. Next time, even though I’m a definite meat-eater, I’ll just opt for the salad bar. It may have been because we were there at an off time, but a lot of the meats were cooked to the right temp, but seemed a bit dried out or crusted for the first slice of the serving. When we were about 3/4 finished with our meal, they asked if we were wanting any particular cut of meat. We asked for the lamb chops because we hadn’t seen them yet. We waited for probably 10 minutes or so and they brought around land steaks and the server apologized because he said these are the steaks not the chops. He didn’t say if the chops were coming out at any point. We waited about 10 more minutes or so, and then we decided that we were gonna need to call it quits. We had ordered a dessert, and we were mostly finished with that when the server brought lamb chops around, and he seemed kind of annoyed that we wouldn’t take any. By that time it had been almost 30 minutes since we had talked to him so we had no idea they were still coming. It was a good experience, but for our anniversary, I wish that we had gone to the downtown Boston location.More infoFogo de Chao - ProvidencePrice: Moderate• Brazilian• Providence•4.2
