Within two years, Dominic began winning national awards and has continued to do so for the last 40 years. This is an exceptional restaurant with fine Italian cuisine, professional, friendly service, & an extensive wine list. Dominic oversees the kitchen,and the menu includes fresh seafood, veal, tenderloin, lamb, and many other choices. The restaurant has a Florentine atmosphere, with low lighting, white tablecloths, & classic oil paintings. Initially I was reluctant to go here since it is a hotel restaurant but the weather was not good so we went. Good choice! My wife got the burrata caprese salad and I had mushroom and black truffle soup. The caprese was delicate and the soup was rich and perfectly prepared. For main courses my wife had la classics lasagna napoletana, which was firm and deeply meaty, quite delicious. I had the tagliatelle don Alfronso, which was to die for. The sauce with their home grown tomatoes was exquisitely sweet and the home made pasta perfect. I’m of Italian ancestry and have been eating Italian food my whole life and I cannot recall something this delicious, even when we’ve been in Sorrento. The service was attentive and helpful and the owner interested in our thoughts. Highly recommended.

Russel’s is the absolute best gem in STL! Brunch was fantastic as always, the biscuits, oh the biscuits are so tasty and perfect! The Lola Jean is such a delicious staple and we tried the Cuban, on of the best we’ve had! Service is always fantastic!
