Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012. In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ.     We ate at the lounge. Very intimate, with the large chairs, tables and big fireplace. Very cool space. We had small plates that were delicious. The bar offers more than wine and my martini was done well. Our waiter, Joe, was attentive without hovering and made great suggestions. Highly recommend.

    Amazing. We have not been to the Sumitt Hotel in decades and found our new treasure. Food and service was amazing. The best part was the decor and sound level. The bar was huge and very active. Live music added to the experience. Ideal for romance. Can’t wait until next time

    My husband and I had a very pleasant experience at Sapori. Our waitress, Mario, gave us a wonderful experience. He was professional and helpful. He welcomed us with a beautiful smile and warm countenance. He checked on us regularly, we appreciate his service. For our Entree my husband and I had the Lamb Chops and ravioli. They were nice and tender, juicy and flavorful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and we will certainly dine here again.
