There are plenty of activities on our doorstep with wonderful walks and the picturesque Forest Way trail close. Groombridge also benefits from having Harrisons Rocks for keen climbers and the perfect cycling routes across the Ashdown Forest. The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British food, occasionally dipping into other cuisines to provide a vehicle for flavours – nettle gnocchi for example, or poached oyster with wild boar chorizo.WE wanted a unique fun and informal restaurant, to offer their Crowborough Estate’s produce from. A charming 16th-century pub with bags of character. There's nothing quite like sitting in an old English pub with a roaring fire on a cold winter's day. The food was excellent, and the service was wonderfully friendly. I’ll definitely be returning!

Lovely dog friendly pub. Very cosy and inviting, all the staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming. The menu consisted of pub classics and many delicious unique dishes like beef cheek bourguignon. All the food in the pub smelt amazing to be honest. Would definitely visit again.

First time trying the White Hart and the Sunday roast didn't dissappoint. Portion sizes were ample and it was delicious. Service was a little slow but this wasnt an issue. Lovely atmosphere and very dog friendly. Well definitely be back again.
