Best Dog Friendly Restaurants in South San Francisco

We loved the fun vibe and the beautiful view of the Bay Bridge, but we were a little disappointed in the food this time. The oysters were fabulous, but the squid appetizer that our Waiter recommended was only so so. It tasted too fishy/anchovy strong. My daughter ordered the miso cod, and although she liked it, she said it wasn’t what she expected (needed broth). I ordered the scallop appetizer which was good, but nothing special. My husband ordered the duck and he was happy with his selection. We’ve enjoyed some fabulous dinners at Waterbar, but we probably won’t be coming back anytime soon.

We heard there was a new chef here which concerned us. The menu has changed and sadly the meatloaf or meatballs with mashed potatoes are no longer on the menu. That said the burger and fries are still good as was the ceasar salad. The Digby martini was also very good although slightly sweeter than prior times. The pickled beets cocktail was delicious.

Food and service were great! We do appreciated how the menu works for people who are omnivores, vegans, lactose-intolerant, gluten-free…and everything was DELICIOUS. We loved that everyone could find something to eat, and we could even share appetizers with restrictions. The wine list is also fantastic, loved the Chenin Blanc we ordered. Service was attentive and warm, decor is timeless. Firefly is a classic SF spot for a reason!

The place was beautiful on the outside and inside. The food was very good and our server, Karen, was great. I tried the pistachio calzone, Cristina Pizza, and the Italian sampler and everything was tasty. The only negative is the sampler should have been less pricey.

All good save the couple at the next table who spilled water all over me and my outer wear. I was surprised by the baptism.
