Contrary to popular belief, JJ's Restaurant is not named for popular owner Jimmy Frantzé. In 1985, Jimmy purchased JJ Malane's from his former business partner and the saloon's namesake. Malane's went away, but JJ's remained, and a West Plaza fine dining icon was born. This our 3rd trip to Ocean Prime celebrating our anniversary. Every time it has been excellent. Bree was our server and she was great! We both started with drinks. I tried the Berries n Bubbles and my husband had the Smoked Old Fashioned. I had the Lobster Bisque to start, and it was delicious. For our main entrees, I had the Wagyu filet and he had the Rib Eye. Both were cooked to perfection. We shared the Smoked Gouda tater tots and the corn. Since it was our anniversary we got to pick a dessert on the house. We have a tradition going back to the beginning of our marriage to always pick the creme brulee. And it was outstanding as well.

I have been to Plate for Happy Hour many times, but this was my first time for dinner. We were not disappointed. We started with the pear bruschetta and truffle garlic bread and both were delicious. The Caesar and Moderno salads were both superb. Everyone at the table had pasta and each dish was delicious - we especially loved the Rigatoni. The dishes all had a little spice - which we enjoyed. Portions were perfect - not huge - but so good we all ate every bit. We ended with chocolate cake to share - which was also delicious. Service was great and so was the atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
