Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Los Alamitos / Cypress

The ambiance is great for groups and gathering. Christmas decor all around. Live music in the background and great place to catch up with people. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. The in house bread are soft, moist, and freshly baked. We had 18oz bone in steak, lobster mac and cheese, corn risotto, spaghetti and meatballs, and mushrooms. All complimented one another. My aunt also got a celebration cheesecake since it is her birthday. The butter cake is so soft, moist, and decadent. Our server is so polite despite the busy night. Overall, we had a great time. my first time at Puesto for dinner with my childhood friends (holiday reunion). food was excellent. Appetizers were priced at about where I expected. Three different kinds of ceviche. I had the skirt steak plate. It was a little pricey for the amount of food. But then again it is the high rent district next to Disneyland. Tacos looked good, probably the better value. The cocktails were a little pricey too. Margaritas ran 17 –20 $20. Again, it is the high rent district. It was not too noisy inside – – could still hold a conversation with those at my table. Service was excellent, and very attentive to our service needs. I’ll go there again, but will order tacos instead.

The food was outstandingly fresh, high quality, and creatively prepared and served. The price fixe menu of many courses seemed to climb a bell curve, with the least interesting being the shrimp chip and dip starter ‘snack’ , climbing to a magnificent crescendo with the the scallop and mussel small plate, and an equally exquisite plate of the freshest sliced kampachi. Each plate was beautiful, graced with curated vegetables, flowers, and delicate sauces that completed, never overpowered. Our only complaint: we found the dessert disappointing in flavor, appearance and texture: a choux pastry ball with a heavy dull filling, sitting on top of a scatter of what resembled stale cocoa puff cereal pieces. I would have traded it for the rich creamy mascapone ice cream served earlier, sans the caviar topping. The service was outstanding: gracious, helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and well orchestrated. Overall we had a fabulous dining experience, exceeding our highest expectations. In most every way, including price, dining here is a special occasion; we could not understand how or why most diners we observed were wearing gym clothes, T-shirts and jeans, sneakers, fuzzy slippers. What’s next: dining in our underwear? How about a dress code?!

As a LBCC alumni, we looked forward to this special opportunity to come back to the campus and eat at the LBCC Bistro. We had a wonderful gourmet food experience. The Latin themed 3 course lunch was delicious. We had the yam cakes appetizer, an outstanding entree of seared white fish in a delicious chimichurra sauce, and a unique sweet tamale dessert. The staff were professional and friendly. Our server, Frank, was polite, friendly and answered all our questions. Loved watching the chefs on the big screen in the room and behind the glass window. It was a terrific experience from start to finish and we look forward to another visit in the future!
