The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check.     801 is a must when I visit Minneapolis. The food and service are always top notch. And Patrick did an excellent job navigating a unique situation. Two in our party were very delayed. I ordered for them, and our meals arrived soon after the rest of our party. The service was very efficient without feeling rushed. Another great experience.

    It is a beautiful room and the food was delicious. One of us had the Wellington Meatloaf. It looked so good. Another had the pork chop which was excellent and another had chicken pot pie. I had scallops. All very good. Service was excellent as well.

    We are so excited to have a new restaurant in our neighborhood and it is gorgeous. The atmosphere/ambiance is what my sister and I called "upscale Minneapolis chic". (an oxymoron I guess!) It is spacious with very tasteful and calming décor and has unique and exciting menu options from locally grown and in-house cured/prepared food. The staff are delightful and personable and make sure your time there feels special. Love it and will be back again and again! Welcome!!!

    This is a very underrated breakfast experience in the Twin Cities. You can park for free with a validation and have a very quiet, mellow brunch with a breakfast cocktail and not get the side-eye on a weekday morning. I work overnights and 72 hour shifts. It’s really a treat to go here to decompress in a benign space after an extended shift. The food is superlative, French inspired; indulgent, but not gutbusting. The waitstaff are outstanding and top-notch. Kind of hate to share this review because it’s my secret!
