- NNicholaNewcastle and Northumberland •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt was the first time that we’d sat downstairs in the bar area and I was a little dubious, but the service, ambience and setting were all just as good as being in the main restaurant. The valentines menu was fantastic, great choices and I having the choice of picking the paired wine was an added bonus; all at amazing value. We’ve visited a number of times and will be returning again soon. Fabulous, if you haven’t been you won’t be disappointed!More infoNo. 59 Restaurant @ Townhouse MorpethPrice: Expensive• British• Morpeth•4.9
- TTomNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoWithout a doubt this restaurant in this underated village of Northumberland should NOT be underrated. The Courtyard is a credit to the Community of Pegswood. We were there for the Valentine’s Day special menu in 2025. The friendliness and welcome of the staff matched the theme of love and care of the day. The food was great quality and very well presented. However, before rushing to 5 star across the board, there is a long enduring element that should be addressed. Having been there a number of times now since it was opened, the service has tended to be slow at busy times. They were still amazing, a credit to the establishment. A great place to eat with amazing staff and quality customer serviceMore infoThe Courtyard PegswoodPrice: Moderate• Bistro• Morpeth•4.8

The staff are very friendly and helpful to make sure you get the best experience, great atmosphere and the food is outstanding! This was our third visit and it’s been superb all three times! I highly recommend the French quarter to anyone, especially anyone looking for the best French restaurant! Already looking forward to our next visit. - CCarolNew York City •4 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoWe received a voucher for Blackfriars for Christmas. Booking was easy online. We arrived slightly early but our table was ready. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived and enjoyed the background music. Service was very good and we asked if we could mix and match between the menu’s and they said it was fine to do that. We ordered the fish platter to share which was really nice. I ordered the fillet steak, it was perfectly cooked to the way I like it and the chips were amazing, I ordered the beef dripping jus which was delicious. My husband ordered the corn fed chicken, again this was delicious. We had no room for desert so can’t comment on that. My husband also had the larger brewed onsite which he said was very nice. Only fault I would say is they put a service charge of 10% on your bill but it is explained it is not mandatory. Definitely will be back.More infoBlackfriars RestaurantPrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
