Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea. Amazing new dinner spot. Pasta was cooked to perfection & the risotto was heavenly….I didn’t want it to end. Atmosphere and service was 2nd to none. Will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed the food, drink, service and atmosphere there. The staff are all welcoming us warmly. We loved deep fried white fish, fried rice, dim sum.

A friend and I chose this restaurant for a long overdue catch up. It was ideal. The food was delicious and plenty. The wait staff attentive but not intrusive. The noise level was well managed and allowed for an easy conversation with no difficulty in hearing each other. We left very happy, and, will be back again for a repeat. Thanks to all for a great dining experience.

Amazing experience. The chef was full of character and had lots of fun with the diners and explained the courses well. The service was great and the food was delicious. The wine pairing was a bit too much on the sweet side for my liking but was nice to taste a range of different sakes.
