Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. One of the best meals out I’ve had in ages. Blacklock might be my new favourite Manchester restaurant. I loved everything about it - low key, unpretentious but such high-quality. Friendly staff, efficient service. It’s really excellent.

Aamchi Mumbai is my go-to Indian restaurant, and the place where I take friends and family because I know they will enjoy it as much as I do. What I like is a) there's a very good range of vegetarian meals b) you aren't overwhelmed by a huge selection - they do a limited number of dishes, but do them well c) you aren't going to be put off by a good sounding dish that shows 4 chilli peppers and might be too hot - they concentrate on flavour rather than trying to impress with heat d) the owners are Indian and are passionate about what they do. I've never had a bad, or even slightly off meal at this place. The food has always been to a high standard and the service excellent.
