Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. This was my first time at The Bluffton Room and won’t be the last. Everything from the bread and butter, salad and meal was superb and had lots of flavor. I had the lamb special and it was so tender and delicious. The service was very good as well. Definitely recommend!

We have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened and finally did. My wife and I both had excellent meals and plan to return. We had everything from appetizers to dessert which we don’t normally do (ate the crème brulle there and took the chocolate mousse pie home for later 😊). The menu had a wide selection of seafood and meat options as well as a couple of vegetarian items.

Another WONDERFUL dinner and celebration of my birthday. Gaston was an excellent server, very personable, efficient, attentive and knowledgeable. We were given a complimentary Prosecco and a taste of three recommended wines for our meal choices. I chose the Chianti. Dinner was terrific, my veal chop was perfect. My favorite desert at Ombra is there Affogato. Great night.
