Napa Valley Bistro was opened in 2013 by chefs Bernardo Ayala and Ernesto Martinez, (also co-owner of Market in St. Helena). Their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted over 20 years was so successful, they decided to pool their resources and stake a claim in downtown Napa's expanding culinary scene. Their aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. Tarla is one of very best Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay Area. The traditional dips of Hummus, Baba Ganoush, and Tzatziki, are fantastic and they buy the highest quality pita and grill it so it is warm and delicious. All of their entrees are superb. Their grilled Branzino is perfect. My favorite thing is their Turkish meatballs that are grilled and served with fried potatoes and fried kale. To my mind this is the best way to eat kale. It is transformed into a delicious crispy crunch. The staff is very friendly and professional. The Chef is a woman who often circulates in the dining room. It is a wonderful dining experience. Full bar and excellent wine list.

We had Christmas dinner here, and it did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious. Two of us had the squid ink linguini with mixed shellfish and my husband had the chicken parm. Portions were quite small on the linguini dish and I kind of wish our meals could have included a salad or something, but that’s ok. Service was extremely quick and super-friendly. I would love to go back if we’re in the area again!

Charlie Palmer Steak at the iconic Archer Hotel provides expertly cooked various cuts of steak with equally well-prepared sides and desserts. Staff is friendly and incredibly attentive. Happy hour specials cannot be beat, and excellent cocktails are always being crafted. A must-do if staying in downtown Napa!
