Best Restaurants with a Happy Hour in North Hollywood

Our waiter was ok.. watching other servers, he could learn a few things. I love the castaways, but was shocked to discover on a limited menu, by 12:30 they were out of stuff and the restaurant had been opened for less than 2 hours.. I thought it was weird.. poor planning on mgt side.

It is such a cute restaurant, attached to a hotel so it’s open on holidays as well as early and late. The service is very mediocre.  They took about 20 minutes to come get the check. the food is just OK. The drinks are really good. The vibe is great and I would definitely go back again with friends or family.

We started with their Paint and Sip session from 12 to 2 PM, which was an absolute blast. The ambiance was creative and relaxing, and the staff ensured we had everything we needed to unleash our inner artists. It was such a fun and unique way to bond with my mom and Gabby—lots of laughs, a little paint flipping, and beautiful keepsakes to take home! After exploring the lively Universal CityWalk, we came back at 5 PM for dinner, and Five on the Hill absolutely wowed us. The chef’s gift, a stunning Oaxacan-inspired chile relleno with butternut squash purée, crème fraîche, and pomegranate arils, was a masterpiece—rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My mom adored the Elf’s Pumpkin Pot Pie, a heartwarming dish with tender chicken and flaky puff pastry served in a petite pumpkin—it was pure comfort on a plate. And let’s not forget the lobster tacos—delicate, flavorful, and a perfect way to indulge! From the creative vibes at the Paint and Sip to the unforgettable culinary experience, Five on the Hill made our Universal City adventure truly remarkable. Can’t wait to return! 🌟

Service was excellent and the food delicious, we had a great cozy corner table inside as it was a little chilly out but the outside is really lovely as well. Live the shared plates and everything was super yummy.

The music environment was loud n awesome for our family. There was a live dj for brunch mimosas where great. Its was fun time for my family n my Mother 70th birthday !! We enjoyed the music n we dance a little when the mimosas kicked in ! Thank you !!
