Best Kid Friendly Restaurants in Mission Bay / South Beach

I have to say, we had a fabulous time at China Live and fantastic food and drinks. We knew we were dining on a very busy night (after the Lunar New Year Parade) but had made reservations well ahead of time. Despite the busy evening, the restaurant went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely dining experience. The special steamed fish was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be going back. I was impressed with how the restaurant prepared for unusually large crowds and gave forethought to the circumstances.

Small plates were, as always, very good. We also ordered a whole steamed trout, which was fine, but not particularly memorable (a far better move would have been to have skipped the trout and gotten three more small plates instead). Also, as an off-menu option offered by our server when we ordered the Misoyaki grilled scallops, we took a caviar accompaniment, which I don't think I would do again (the scallops ($22) were great, while the thumbnail-sized portion of caviar ($15) didn't really elevate the dish that much. Restaurant was also a little bit cold this time, possibly because we were sitting closer to the door than in past visits.

We've only been to the Zuni a few times, but we were longing for their hamburgers and shoestring potatoes. As usual, they did not disappoint us. We ate them and had a sidecar as well, The sidecar was new to us, and very enjoyable. So was the Gateau Victoire -- a rich chocolate cake with whipped cream. We also had a port with dessert. All wonderful. There are many other things on the menu, which I'm sure are also wonderful. We'll go back to try them out.

Exceptional service, we adored our waitors! Food is divine - started with the zucchini fries and olive appetizer, shared the Prosciutto Parm and Rigatoni. Accompanied by their seasonal martini, I couldn’t have been more content.

We wish someone explained that the only way to order is by QR code on the table. Once ordered, items came quickly but no other service provided throughout the meal. Pay on line and leave. Only 2 points of contact—seating you at the table and bringing food to the table. No one checks on tables. Wanted more napkins but no one is actually waiting on tables. Seems to be the system in place, not an issue with the wait staff. Staff was friendly.
