General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). Our dinner at Amal was nothing short of spectacular. The service was welcoming, the seating was comfortable and the food was the star. We ordered the sampler of dips which were delectable. Next we had the tabbouleh, hummus chicken shawarma and the grilled halloumi (which was my favourite). Our main was the skewer platter for two. The meat was marinated well and grilled perfectly. The music changed subtly from cultural music to club beats when the DJ came in. Overall a fantastic dinner out. From the colonnade building, take the elevator opposite William Ashley to the second floor and turn left. It was a bit hard to find as there were no directional signs.
