- HHoyleVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •73 reviews5.0Dined todayThis is our go to place when we have the opera or concert. Used to alternate between Absinthe and Monsieur Benjamin, but the latter is sadly no more. We can always expect very cozy, Paris-like atmosphere at Absinthe, as well as wonderful personalized service and outstanding food. We usually start with the oysters which are truly outstanding - fresh and tasty with wonderful sauce on the side. Their French onion soup is authentic and wonderful. The escargot appetizer is wonderful and creative, and the main courses - scallops (wife) and boef bourgignon with sweetbreads are always delicious. This restaurant is a San Francisco treasure.More infoAbsinthe Brasserie and Bar - SFPrice: Expensive• French• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.8

- EElyseNew York City •4 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMy husband and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our table server was fantastic and her service was great. We did notice that it was difficult for the server to get back to us quickly to follow-up on drinks and food, but I don't think this was due to her. The place was busy and it seemed like all servers were also responsible for tending the bar. Maybe they were down staffed, but either way we really did love being there. The service only became an issue because after 1.5 hours at a bar table, the host (Not our server) told us we would need to finish up in the next 5 minutes because people were waiting. We were on our way out, so it wasn't a problem, but it did feel rushed. If there is a limit on table time, it would be helpful to have that noted when you make a reservation.More info¡Chao Pescao!Price: Moderate• Latin American• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.3
- DDr BonnieVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •33 reviews5.0Dined on Feb 20, 2025This i a sleek sophisticated space close to the Opera House and Symphony to explore all kinds of lucious Burmese tastes. From tea leaf salad to chicken curry, it was a gastronomic feast. A fabulous addition to Civic Center/Hayes Valley in San Francisco. Can't wait for the March ballet to try more items on the menu. Special thanks to the management for honoring our early reservation when we were delayed by traffic.More infoTeakwoodPrice: Moderate• Burmese• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.6
