Tucked into one of Portland’s beautifully restored industrial buildings, Olympia Provisions Southeast has grown from establishing the city’s first salumeria to being a destination for refined, European-style dishes. Our menu here is guided by the capable hands of Chef Matthew Jarrell, and reflects an innovative approach to the traditions of rustic Spanish and Mediterranean cooking. In combining these methods with the clean, bold flavors of the Pacific Northwest, Jarrell's dishes highlight the locally-sourced meats and seasonal vegetables you’ll find on his menus. Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Named one of 20 Best New Restaurants in America for 2024 By Bon Appetit! In a distant European city, Fabian and Miriam vanished into the Alps, trading their city lives for mountain solitude. Once busy young professionals, their days were consumed by demanding careers, their rare weekends cherished for dining out and dancing, occasionally venturing into the mountains. But destiny intervened when Miriam inherited her grandfather's Alpine hut, nestled amidst the rustic charms of the mountains. They cut ties with the city, forsaking it for good. Days were spent farming, foraging, crafting cheese, and making wine. Nights brought cooking, baking, wine-drinking, and stargazing.Friends from the city visited, but Fabian and Miriam never looked back. They were drawn deeper into the mountains, caught in the Alpenrausch's dual meaning—the exhilaration of mountain air and the intoxication of good company, fine wine, and schnapps.Come experience Alpenrausch!

Such a knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant server. Food (I ordered the duck), drink, and dessert were also exquisite. Higgins was top-notch, as usual. We love this place.

7 of us had brunch here. Our wait staff paid attention and refilled drinks before they were empty, and didn’t rush us out the door. I appreciated that they allowed us to enjoy our meal and were around if we needed them, but weren’t stopping by every 5 minutes to ask us how we were doing. Our food took a little longer (maybe 30 minutes from ordering), but without asking they brought out olives and nuts to snack on while waiting. Will be back again.

As always, the food was delicious, drinks were tasty, and service was friendly. Only downside is the noise level. We usually sit in the bar area to take the edge off the sound.

Went here for a romantic evening dinner after a full day of exploring and hiking around Portland. Kind, attentive staff, outstanding views, well curated menu and wine selection. I do wish the portions were slightly larger, especially the dessert. We ordered one to share, and it was quite small; we could have eaten it in one bite. However, the city view is undoubtedly one of the highlights, it completely transports you into a far more intimate city and makes you forget about the bustling around you. Our server Amanda was amazing! She made sure we were well educated on our entree selections, and I have to commend how careful they were about my tree nut allergy, that kind of attention to detail is a rare occurrence. Overall, it was a beautiful evening and I will definitely be returning next time I’m in Portland.

Took my mom and husband to Afternoon Tea for a holiday celebration and it was great. The restaurant confirmed with me three times that they could accommodate my mom's food allergy ahead of time and her choices were excellent. The service and ambiance were outstanding and the food was delicious. My one wish is that it were just a bit quieter for conversation, but the noise level was still reasonable for a full restaurant. We ill definitely return for Afternoon Tea and I hope they consider offering it year round.
