Best Lunch Restaurants in South Granville

I love Dovetail. My favourite is the spicy vodka pasta with chicken but everything they have is great. Getting a reservation in the evening requires some planning, but coming in the afternoon is always wide open, and preferable for me anyway. They also have lunch specials and the pasta dishes are enough for two. I'm so happy I discovered Dovetail, they have a loyal fan.

I love Lebanese food, and Mazahr's is very tasty. We had the kibbeh, hummus, muhammara, makdous I would only say that the Makdous (stuffed pickled baby eggplant) was WAY too strong. If you have sensitivities to sharp flavours and vinegar, maybe you skip this one. Between the pickling and the natural acids of the eggplant if it's not cured (salted, rinsed) we found it hard to eat. My mouth is feeling the effects this morning. Having said that, I will go back. I'd like to experience everything on the menu :)

Having had an amazing dinner at Lumière many years ago, I was thrilled to see Rob Feenie had taken over at Le Crocodile (which was also wonderful in the past). Loved the updated decor. The service was impeccable and was pleasantly surprised to see Rob overseeing things at lunchtime. The food did not disappoint either. The Foie Gras Terrine was as beautiful to look at as it was to eat. The Duck Confit was perfectly cooked, succulent and accompanied with simple potato slices, brussel sprouts and a smooth sauce with a pretty frisée garnish. A glass of French Limoux bubby to start and a rich Côte du Rhone were perfect wine choices. My friend’s Short Rib Sandwich and Frites were delicious as well. So happy to have the opportunity to reprise some great meals from past times.

Second time here and food did not disappoint. Love the servers, always welcoming and friendly. We will be back.

We made it for happy hour - but did not know it - but our server reminded us. It was a great visit with my sister as the server was attentive but not overly - and the meal was delicious. we shared the humous and we both had the lettuce wraps - the sauce was perfect.
