Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant at its core, but it’s also evolved into something more than that. It’s about comfort, generosity, and cosiness. At Margaret, we work with the best quality produce that Australia has to offer. Chef Neil Perry AM has spent years developing relationships with some of the best suppliers in the country. We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through. The menu at Margaret is diverse and inspired by all the flavours that Neil has been collecting over his 45+ years in the industry. Margaret

    Dined today
Dined at Margaret's on Friday 21st Feb for lunch. The entree that stood out was the sashimi of pearl meat, wonderfully textured with a zingy citrus tang from the white soy ponzu. For main the lamb cutlets with hassisa, 3 cutlets beautifully cooked with the hassisa having a gentle bite but not overpowering the cutlets. Enjoyed a fig and walnut pudding to finish. A light, beautifully textured dessert with the flavour of the fig punctuating each mouthful. Wait staff we friendly and informative. Wine matches were very good. The restaurant was busy and alive with the hum of conversations. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Always make sure to visit when I visit Sydney. Everything top rate, good wine list, nice choices of food, including fish, meat and veg options. Favourites for me are the pulpo starter and the banana desert. Good friendly service despite dining at time when there was a change of servers. Good atmosphere, music played. Booking is only question, it was hard to find any slot over a three day period so was surprised that when we went it was much less than full.

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant from the speakeasy type entrance to the superb cocktails, excellent food and friendly service. The atmosphere is warm and mysterious. We enjoyed sharing the calamari as an appetizer followed by the pasta with pork/veal ragu sauce that is beyond description. As a main course we thankfully shared a delicious veal Milanese in bolognese which could have fed three. Best restaurant in Sydney by far.
