The Hawthorn is a Georgian gem in the heart of Haworth, packed full of period features offering a relaxed environment to unwind with friends and family. This warm and appealing gastropub has been renovated throughout to showcase an array of local antiques including a stunning array of Barraclough clocks, homage to John Barraclough himself, Clockmaker to the Brontes, who used to live in this very building in the Georgian era.We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this. We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country. Cooking on the Josper ensures none of the natural moisture or flavour escapes from the food, whilst at the same time adding the distinct chargrilled taste.

What a pleasure it was to have an early dinner at The Old Post Office in Haworth. The building has been so sensitively brought back to life as the most charming restaurant. The food and service were magnificent. Well done to Mark, Charlie and all the team in recreating in this historic building such a charming location to spend an hour or two. I will be a regular visitor!

Our first time at The Hawthorn. Was a lovely restaurant. Greeted by very helpful polite staff. Very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Efficient and professional. Pleasant and polite. I had the flat iron Steak with peppercorn sauce and crispy skin on fries. Absolutely delicious. Couldn’t find fault. Service was very prompt. The fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the Burger with fries and he really enjoyed it too. Plenty of choices from the wine and beverage section. Prosecco was very nice as was the Ilkley beer. We didn’t have room for desert. Again nice choices from a traditional menu. Very nice indeed and we will definitely be returning.

The staff couldn't be more helpful and we thought it was equivalent to the 2 star Michelin meals we have previously had but the price is a lot less. My guests are particularly picky and hard to impress but they thought it was wonderful. The Sunday lunch is amazing value. There was so much food we couldn't finish it .As always the food is extremely good. I usually end up feeling frustrated when we go out because l can cook better meals than is served but this certainly isn't the case here. The atmosphere is lovely and very relaxing. It's informal and friendly and the staff are very attentive and couldn't do enough to be more helpful. I love the stained glass windows and the very comfortable upholstered chairs Thank you box tree for a lovely relaxing time.
