Best Organic Food Restaurants in Ross Township

Thank you Cucina Alfabeto for redeeming our Valentine’s Day! My wife and I were underwhelmed by the restaurant we dined with on the 14th, but upon discovering your restaurant still miraculously had some availability, we booked a “mulligan” Valentine’s Day for the day after. Our experience with your amazing restaurant and team more than made up for our previous night’s debacle. I had the Veal Milanese - protip: ask for extra caper gremolata, it makes the dish - and my wife got the cod tortellini which was masterfully presented. We chose to sit at the bar despite table availability and were delighted to make the acquaintance of the new head bartender, Chris. He is an expert mixologist and wonderful host. After dinner we popped over to the bookstore, remembering the manager of Cucina Alfabeto is able to work their register, so my wife and I picked out books for each other. The night was perfection!

The food is incredible, and we’ve had the same server two years in a row for Valentine’s Day, he is superb. I only hope that he’s still there next year and continues to remember us, he’s always a great time.

My partner and I came in early on Friday for a Valentine’s Day lunch, since we both work nights. We had a lovely time, the meats traveling around the room was very cool and a different experience. Our server Aniya (I’m so sorry if I spelled her beautiful name wrong) was so sweet and very knowledgeable. We had an awesome lunch!

I have lived in Pittsburgh for 10 years and have visited Altius only 2 times for special occasions. This visit was one of them. I had a reservation and had mentioned a window seat that was honored by the team. We had the lobster gnocchi, chilled oysters and crab toast for appetizers, and skipped mains. All three dishes were delicious and well presented. For drinks, we had a red and white wine from their selection, along with two cocktails (a winter sangria and an old fashioned inspired drink called The Monks Elixir). We picked a coffee inspired desert called Coffee Break, which had coffee ice cream and mousse. Overall, we had a great time, our server was very kind and knowledgeable, and the staff made us feel comfortable. The view, food, and service were 10/10

Food came out quickly. The kids had a blast. We celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday there and everything went smoothly. The best part was by far our waitress - she was so friendly, cheerful and helpful. Her name is Paige Costa and she was just great. We were a pretty demanding table with 14 people and kids ranging from 9 to 13 years old and lots of drinks and food orders at different times. Thank you Paige!
