Cured – The gastro-pub style restaurant, in the heart of the Pearl District of San Antonio, TX. Cured is endowed with a name that celebrates Chef Steve McHugh's successful battle against cancer, as well as the artisanal cured meats that are the cornerstone of his menu. The three-time James Beard Award finalist began his culinary journey on a small farm in Wisconsin and a vibrant decade in New Orleans. This position eventually led him to San Antonio where, with a new lease on life after beating lymphoma, he ventured out on his own to open Cured. McHugh's gastronomic foundation relies on the purity of natural regional ingredients and the hands-on unadultured methods that enhanced his own healing process. This from-scratch focus finds its way to seasonally dynamic menus of cured delicacies from the charcuterie to pickles.

Our verdant succulent gardens welcome you as you enter the restaurant, with the iconic Tower of the America's in the distance. The cozy dining room and twenty six foot bar are framed by a floating botanical spice illuminated with soft lights. The Danish wishbone chairs, steel accents and warm wood tones are juxtaposed against minimalist art, custom concrete tiles, natural pigments, and uniquely sourced ceramics from Latin America and Asia. Led by acclaimed chef, Elizabeth Johnson, who helped the City of San Antonio receive a UNESCO City of Gastronomy designation. Pharm Table is an mecca for healthful farm to table cuisine. Removing inflammatory ingredients like wheat, dairy, refined sugar and processed foods, the restaurant focuses instead on fresh farm produce and meats carefully sourced from regenerative farmers. The "party favor" is how you feel once you enjoyed the restaurant's apothecary approach to food and beverage. Provecho!

Located in the heart of downtown, The Esquire Tavern is the oldest bar on the San Antonio Riverwalk, opened the year, month and day that Prohibition was repealed. Tending bar in the early days was a highly prized and much sought after craft. Bar keeps then created many of their own syrups, mixes and concoctions and used the freshest of juices with the intention of serving the best products. We at the Esquire have taken a serious approach to the old world of bartending and spun it with a modern twist. Combining classic techniques and new world flavors and culinary concepts, our goal is to lead and set San Antonio's emerging cocktail culture on the map.

This restaurant was great! Service was wonderful…very attentive server! The food was delicious! Beginning with the Oysters and Caviar and the Octopus, going on to the Axis Deer, and ending with the EggNog Creme Brulee…..each dish was tasty, and beautifully presented! The extra touches….the soup, the bread, butter, sorbet, and the cookie tray were all very special! The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated…in a beautiful location! A great evening!!

We went there to have dinner and play some pool. Unfortunately, they replaced the pool tables with dining tables. Granted, I hadn't been there in quite a while, so I didn't know the change. The food was ok.

I keep returning to the Esquire. We sat on the outdoor seating overlooking the San Antonio Riverwalk on a perfect evening. My friend and I both ordered a cognac French 75 cocktail (one of the best in San Antonio) and the Mussels (Moules Frites). The French 75 never disappoints. This was my first time to try the mussels. I will definitely order again! Service was wonderful and attentive. We didn't have to worry about making our show at the Majestic Theatre nearby.
