Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Kaanapali

Highly recommend. Our best meal by far during our 11-day stay on the island. Request waiter Nick (with glasses). Nick is one of the best servers we have experienced in all of our years of travel. He was in control from the time he first approached our table. He was kind. He was confident. He was very knowledgeable about all of our dining options. He made what would be a very good dining experience, a great one. The sashimi tuna was the best we’ve ever had. The ulu mash, spectacular. Filets were on point. Overall, we could not recommend Ulu’s enough. The Hawaiian cake dessert was the finishing touch.

Service was quite good with the exception of food prep time. Server was outstanding. Food was great. Lobster perfectly done. Same with Ahi steak. Everyone was super happy with their meals. Ambiance was beach restaurant normal, with relatively high noise levels. Place was super clean and visually uncluttered. Seating was decently spaced and comfortable. Music from other side of restaurant was muted, muddy, and unidentifiable - and mostly more a part of the background noise than it was contributing to the ambiance. Need a better way to balance that across the whole place. View was of course awesome. Value was ok if you account for usual resort area price inflation.

We’ve eaten here 2x on this trip and have another reservation for tomorrow. Lunch was fantastic - the mango bbq salad was so good! For breakfast the eggs and potatoes were delicious and my husband enjoyed them. I had the açaí bowl and it’s hands down one of the best I have ever had. Definitely ordering it again tomorrow!!! Don’t skip this place! Also, I dined here for dinner years ago on a previous trip and it was phenomenal then, too!!!

I had to talk to the manager Jake due to an issue that we had with the gift cards over at Dukes. He was great. He straightened everything out and we watched him and he’s a very much hands-on manager really helping out his staff in that restaurant. We also had Stephanie as a waitress and she was wonderful. Love this restaurant.

A perfect Christmas Eve after having landed late in the afternoon and arriving at the hotel. Waiter and entire staff were warm and caring and the food was really well prepared and flavorful. Thank you Coral Reef Sheraton for a great first night on Maui.
