Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Old San Juan

Ola Ocean Front Bistro Christmas Day Brunch was above expectations. Several stations with Puerto Rico’s favorite dishes. Appetizers, salads, side dishes, carving stations , omelet station, breakfast station with cinnamon waffles and French toast, bacon ect. my wife’s favorite THE DESERT STATION! Roasted pig was melt in your mouth delicious, roasted turkey done perfectly. The sweet plantain coated salmon was incredible, sorry could not eat more. Omelet chef created a delicious pork omelet special. I could not believe the fresh smoked salmon on the appetizer station, the best. Side dishes which included pork rice and beans several Puerto Rico favorites, that I would have loved to try, but there was so much. Did not have room, but the desserts looked to good. Carrot cakes, ginger cake, cheese cakes, a lot of different flavored and covered croissants, mousse and other small desserts. Cannot forget the staff who went above and beyond to make our brunch so special. Being from Massachusetts, had no clue about Ola, but hit a home run with this one.

A Perfect Christmas Meal at Cocina Abierta We had the pleasure of enjoying a five-course Christmas meal at Cocina Abierta, and it was truly a night to remember. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our waitress, Celeste, was absolutely outstanding. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and providing detailed explanations of each dish. She made the experience seamless for our family, who spoke a mix of Spanish and English, accommodating both languages effortlessly. As a family with a shellfish allergy, dining out can sometimes be a challenge, but the staff at Cocina Abierta handled it with care and professionalism. They were attentive to our needs, ensuring that every dish was safe without compromising flavor or presentation. The food itself was exceptional; each course was beautifully presented, and every bite showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients with masterful flavor combinations. It felt like a true celebration of Puerto Rican cuisine with a modern international twist. Overall, Cocina Abierta provided us with more than just a meal—it was an unforgettable holiday experience. If you’re in Puerto Rico and looking for a dining experience that blends incredible food, thoughtful service, and warm hospitality, we can’t recommend it enough. Excellent, a real surprise, we loved everything about it. Food exceeded our expectations, service and ambiance was great. Would highly recommend it. Got to be one of the best restaurants in San Juan.
