History has been written inside the walls of the Wharf, with its 1790's style architecture featuring original wood columns and beams that are charred black from a Civil War fire. Since 1971, satisfied diners have been heading to The Wharf in Old Town for whole Maine lobster, local soft shell crabs and prime steaks.     The food is always outstanding at King and Rye. I had requested a quiet table with my reservation and the host initially tried to seat us right in the loud bar area. I asked them to try to accommodate my request and they did which was excellent. Our server was just ok. He was not articulate in his speech and we could barely understand him or hear him over the volume of the restaurant. His table side manner could have been more friendly and engaging. A server can make or break your experience and he definitely could have been more attentive and friendly. Overall the food was excellent.

    We love the food and service at Il Porto. The staff are very attentive and the hosts make you feel very welcome. The menu is just the right size for everyone to find something and it’s all delicious! Seating is fairly tight so expect a higher noise level, but we love the ambiance, especially sitting window-side on the 2nd floor as people walk outside on King Street.

    We had lunch/brunch to celebrate a birthday. Great service; very attentive and friendly. Surprised with a birthday dessert that was perfect. I do like Joesphine and recommend highly.
