Best Restaurants for Foodies in Sunbury-On-Thames

I came across this restaurant by accident… my husband thought I should have a break from cooking Christmas dinner having done it for 48 years.. Family of six and a dog looking for a nice restaurant other than traditional Christmas fare.. And boy did we find this amazing place. I would say in my humble opinion that this is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The menu is small but the flavour is spectacular it’s not about throwing a handful of chillies and calling it a curry it’s about paring the right spices and herbs and making delicious dishes.. Roots definitely know how to do that.. each dish was so different, so fragrant and very tasty too. The tables are dressed beautifully, every detail is carefully chosen to make this amazing restaurant. And a real bonus to be able to take your dog there too..I will definitely recommend this place.. and I will definitely be going back.

Great staff.. warm, friendly and fun This was our Anniversary and as my wife is a Cape Towner I can’t tell you how nice it was for her to be greeted by Julian (also is), who was helpful in moving the booking for me originally and it kept the link between the original restaurant in Waterfront alive (which is amazing by the way by the ocean) Thanks guys Great dinner (platter) and at £75 Inc a cocktail, on par for decent value these days

Amazing - as always the best Chinese ever. Have been going for 25 years.

We love the food at S&S and always enjoy coming to the restaurant, however on the last few occasions the service is so hit and miss! The waiters seem so indifferent and not very attentive, the orders are sometimes wrong or forgotten and missed, you have to remind the staff or request little things like plates and water. Overall, the main thing that needs to be improved is the service.

Really lovely place for a celebratory birthday lunch - we were there til 5pm! We had a surprise guest who arrived late and the staff ensured that the birthday boy didn’t know, continued service regardless but also with the surprise in mind. The menu had so much to offer I couldn’t decide and wanted to try everything! We’ll definitely be back - loved it!
