Wood Fired hand crafted Italian food set in a rustic modern open space in the warehouse district in ATX. A wide range of specialty dishes created by Chef owner John Carver and his staff on a nightly basis. Chef Mathew Peters, the first American to win the prestigious Bocuse d'Or in 2017, is bringing his culinary expertise to the heart of Austin with the opening of Prelude, an elevated cocktail bar and canapé lounge set in a historic home in West Austin. The space has a beautiful back lawn lounge with views of downtown Austin and private rooms throughout the house that can accommodate groups of 6-18 with private events options of groups up to 120 guests.Prelude will offer a unique Austin experience, combining innovative cocktail creations with elevated small bites.     First time: Made reservations about two months in advance— the place was packed! Everyone was either celebrating something or spending time with loved ones. A great atmosphere! The food was outstanding, a great selection of wines and liquors at the bar. Service was faster than expected, especially considering how busy the place was. Reasonable prices all-around and excellent experience from the staff and the atmosphere.

    Very sexy speakeasy in downtown Austin. The drinks, ambience and vibes were amazing. Cute for date night or girls night out as they take your phone so you have to engage in conversation and enjoy the night. Highly recommend!

    Everything was perfect. The ambience, the food and the service. I’m picky about cocktails. The Duchess might be the best one I’ve ever had. Brioche bread was a die for, I ate the entire loaf alone. 100 layer cake was stunning and also delicious. This just beat out my number one favorite, Jeffery’s in town.

    Prelude is the perfect destination for any occasion—whether you're celebrating something special, catching up with friends, or simply looking to enjoy a delicious drink in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. We sampled the tartare and the ponzu, and both dishes were great, full of fresh flavours, Prelude is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
