Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom­box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawnshop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer.     We are from Canada and celebrated our 25th Anniversary in NY. We chose Carmines for the wonderful reviews we read. The food was delicious, and the value was outstanding. They serve family style so one dish can easily feed 2 to 3 people. Keep that in mind when looking at the pricing. Absolute 5 star experience. Wait time was minimal with reservation and we booked 2 months in advance. We would 100% recommend this restaurant and their very professional staff made the experience perfect!!!

    Elvish really went ABOVE and beyond. I honestly think this experience was undercharged and I never say that. They had coat check, made arrangements for my nut allergy without me even asking, I had 3 points of contact congratulate us for our anniversary. We genuinely didn’t expect anything and they surprised us with a dessert. Then I believe was the manager is started with a Y- I’m so mad I forgot her name was so personable and took the time to get to know us and really make our experience memorable. My boyfriend and I walked out and said “Wow that was the best service we’ve experienced from any place”. Do not hesitate and reserve your spot asap, especially during the holiday season. Thank you guys for making our evening so amazing.
