Best Restaurants for Groups in Holyoke

As always J.Gilberts didn’t disappoint our expectations! Great food and drinks, Amanda our server was Excellent! That’s why we’re repeat customers here in Glastonbury! J.Gilbert’s set the bar very high, not many steak houses can compare to their overall commitment to top quality food, drinks and exceptional service.

Had 1 pm reservations for a Friday lunch and were seated promptly. Dining room was full which was a sign of its popularity. The dining room was nicely decorated and the table settings and tablecloths were a quality touch. Nathan, our server was exceedingly polite and welcoming: a professional in all respects. We ordered the Chicken pot pie. I noticed that no side salad was available on the menu and asked Nathan if one were available. He said it wasn’t a problem at all and the side salads provided were perfect. The pot pie was served in a a tall, cup-like dish, sitting in a lower, wider dish, topped with a puff-pastry biscuit on top. We actually weren’t sure how to eat it and Nathan explained we should remove the pastry, pour the pot pie into the larger dish, and put the pastry on top. The instructions were very helpful and given in such a way as to not embarrass us, much to Nathan’s credit. The pot pie was delicious with generously-sized portions of white meat. We ordered a side of breads, a small basket with a variety of rolls. All were freshly made and tasty. We finished with apple pie a la mode. The pie was also freshly-made and delicious, with a fluffy crust totally different than mass-produced pies. Red Lion is definitely worth the visit: both the food and staff are exceptional and the Inn is just full of character. Make sure you make reservations!

Food as great. The skillet rigatoni was very good. The lamb meatballs seem to have shrunken a bit. Keith was our server and he was nothing short of amazing. Great guy, made the experience even better.

Our overall experience at Millwright’s was fabulous! Delicious food, spectacular ambiance, and impeccable service. Tucked away in a cozy booth we were able to enjoy a lovely New England wintery scene with the beautiful brook below. The Christmas prix fixe was delight after delight and the cherry on top of our evening was the attention and care brought by our server Ron. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and brought great banter to the table. I know he really made the evening for our whole party.
